Kitchen Tiling Specialists in Kent & Medway
Kitchen tiling covers a broader range of work than many people expect — from a straightforward metro tile splashback behind a hob to a full large-format porcelain floor in an open-plan kitchen extension. We carry out all of it across Kent and Medway, and have done so for over 20 years. Whether you're fitting a new kitchen and need a tiler to work alongside your kitchen installer, or simply refreshing a tired splashback in an otherwise sound kitchen, we can help.
The kitchen is a demanding environment for tiles. Splashbacks sit directly behind hobs and ovens and are exposed to heat, steam, cooking grease, and daily cleaning. The wrong adhesive or grout in this location will fail within a few years — discolouring, cracking, or lifting away from the wall. We use heat-resistant adhesive and grout as standard for all splashback work, and take the time to prepare surfaces correctly so the bond is solid from day one.
Kitchen floors present a different set of challenges. Subfloor condition matters enormously — any flex in the boards or unevenness in a concrete slab will telegraph straight through to the tile surface over time, cracking grout joints and eventually the tiles themselves. We assess every floor before we commit to a spec, and where remedial work is needed we'll tell you upfront rather than tile over a problem and leave you with a call-back six months later.
We work with all kitchen tile formats — from classic 100x100mm ceramic to large format 600x600mm and 1200x600mm porcelain slabs that are increasingly popular in modern Kent kitchens. Larger formats require more precise surface preparation and specialist cutting equipment, both of which we carry as standard. If you're not sure what tile format is right for your kitchen, we're happy to advise before you purchase.

What to Expect: Our Kitchen Tiling Process
Whether you're having a splashback fitted or a full kitchen floor tiled, here's what the process looks like from first contact through to completion.
1. Free Site Visit & Quote
We visit the property, assess the walls or floor, take measurements, and discuss tile choice and layout. You'll receive a fixed written quote before any work is agreed — not an estimate that grows on the day.
2. Surface Assessment & Preparation
Walls are checked for soundness and any loose plaster, old adhesive, or paint is dealt with before tiling begins. Floors are checked for flex and level — any issues are addressed at this stage, not discovered after the tiles are down.
3. Setting Out
Before any tile is fixed, we set out the layout to ensure cuts are balanced, patterns are centred, and the finished result looks intentional. This is particularly important around features like windows, sockets, and cooker hoods where poor setting-out is immediately obvious.
4. Tiling
Tiles are fixed using the correct adhesive for the surface and tile format — heat-resistant for splashbacks, flexible for floors over timber subfloors. We cut tiles cleanly using wet saws and angle grinders to achieve neat, accurate cuts around outlets, pipes, and cabinetry.
5. Grouting & Finishing
Grouting begins only after the adhesive has fully cured. Grout colour is agreed with you in advance. Exposed edges and internal corners can be finished in a number of ways depending on the look you want — silicone in a matching or contrasting colour, chrome or brushed brass trim profiles, or plain mitred tile edges for a seamless finish. We'll talk through the options before we start so the finished result is exactly what you had in mind. Surfaces are cleaned down and left tidy.
6. Final Check
We walk through the finished work with you before we leave. Any snagging is addressed on the spot. The job isn't signed off until you're happy with the result.
